Girl Scribbled Bomb Threat On Bathroom Stall Of Catholic HS In Northern VA: Police

A 12-year-old girl found herself in trouble after scribbling a bomb threat on a bathroom stall of a Catholic high school in northern Virginia, authorities announced.

Police responded to the Holy Family Catholic Church and School on Ferndale Road in Woodbridge, around 12:45 p.m. on Friday, May 5, to investigate the threat, Prince William County police said.

The note threatening a bomb was found written on a stall inside of a girl's bathroom of the school.

"A limited number of personnel were on site and self-evacuated as a precaution," police said. "The school was checked by police and K-9 teams. No device was located."

On May 15, police announced that a 12-year-old girl was identified as a suspect. The girl sought petition and, after consultation with Juvenile Court Services, the case resulted in an informal action and will be handled through the juvenile diversion process.
